Selling an Abandoned House: And why you should

One of the things we do here at GregBuysHomes is track code violations and abandoned properties. We see an average about 1 new one new "abandon" per week. The City of San Diego takes reports from anyone who wants to report them.

Here's a typical citizen input:

Online - SMR"abandoned house where people have broken in and living in it, a lot of trash on the property including drug paraphernalia. fires have been caused around this property, a big health issue. over grown trees."

And here's one example of what these sometimes look like (courtesy of Google Maps)

If you own one of these and you'd like to get it off your hands before the city comes after you with fines give us a call. I know some owners see the rising property values and "bank" these figuring they'll get to it someday. In my mind that's just procrastination. Every year you hold on the deferred maintenance as well as potential liability increases.

Fix it and sell it if you have the time, budget and patience.

Or if not give us a call.
